Camp Frequently Asked Questions
Who hosts
this camp?
Students
Today Leaders Forever is proud to continue to host High School Leadership Camp
and Gap Camp. STLF is a registered
501(c)(3) non-profit student leadership organization based out of Minneapolis,
MN. Most commonly known for the Pay It
Forward Tour, STLF has been hosting High School Leadership Camp for seven years
and Gap Camp for three years.
I have
attended camp before. Why are this
year's camps separated?
Think
of it this way: Imagine camp as it was
last year or the year before where High School Leadership Camp and Gap Camp were
at the same location. Now multiply that
by two. High School Camp and Gap Camp
will still be together, there will just be two separate sessions. The demand for camp is so great that adding a
second location will allow twice as many students to experience this amazing
leadership opportunity.
Can I
attend any camp, regardless of my where I live?
YES!!! Any high school aged student can attend either camp location
regardless of geographical location (ie:
A student from Fargo is more than welcome to attend the Chicago area
camp). HOWEVER, STLF will likely not
provide transportation from Minnesota to Wisconsin or vice versa.
I can't
afford the whole amount of camp right now. Can I still register?
YES!!! There is a $100 down payment required to
reserve your spot. The remaining balance
is due 2 weeks prior to camp.
Is there
Financial Aid available?
YES!!! There is a limited amount of need-based financial aid
available. Please e-mail financialaid@stlf.net and you will
automatically receive an application back.
What is
provided in the cost?
The cost of camp includes housing, meals, a t-shirt and leadership
programming. There will be an additional
transportation cost if the student chooses to ride the STLF provided bus.
How will I
get to camp?
STLF
will book transportation from the Chicago area to UW-Parkside at an additional cost. There is currently no STLF chartered transportation available for the St Paul camp.
What if
the participant has a dietary restriction or medical condition?
STLF
prides itself on making sure that our leadership experiences are open to any
and all students regardless of medical condition. Both dining facilities at UW-Parkside and
Hamline University have meals designed for students with special dietary
restrictions. We also are happy to
accommodate any student with a medical condition that requires special
care. We ask that you let us know about
any special condition so we are able to take every measure possible to ensure
the safety and positive experience of the student.
What does
the student need to bring to camp?
A
special packing list will be e-mailed to every participant prior to camp but
will likely include bedding and pillow, clothes for 6 days and 5 nights,
toiletries, medication, etc.
Who do I contact with additional questions?
If
you have additional questions, please e-mail camp@stlf.net
and someone will respond shortly
