My Story - Maryssa, ISU
Maryssa Beckman
Chapter Core Leader, Illinois State University
Sometimes the places you don't want to go are the places you need to be.
They clear the air, lift the fog, and finally allow you to see.
At times you are unsure what it is you're supposed to do.
But in this uncertainty, it's where you truly find you.
You see it's not about you, no not at all, and all of your problems big or small.
It's about the people you meet and the lives that you change and those you affect in so many ways.
The time spent together will help you believe that there is so much more that you can achieve.
Through friendship and tears, anger and pain, you will find someone to run to out of the rain.
The people with you, they will understand that nothing, no nothing will go as planned.
They will hold your hands and dry your eyes. They won't give up on you if you only just try.
The place it was that you did not want to go will change your live more than you will ever know.
So bring on those fears, those nerves and those doubts and come see what STLF is all about.
You will be surprised because here in this hour, there are so many people who you can empower.
