In Memory of Leanna...
While we are all saddened, we want to celebrate her life and the positive impact she has made on countless people. The following is in the words of those who were fellow Core Members of Leanna and knew her best.
STLF Gap Camp
In the end, 20 recently graduated high school students, weeks away from starting new chapters in their lives, traveled to western Wisconsin. Some drove an hour, others flew 2,000 miles. Some marked the dates in their calendars a year earlier, others decided to participate just hours before the camp's start.
ND Youth Forward!
Over three years ago during the spring of 2007, STLF became the youngest nonprofit ever to be reviewed and approved as meeting all current standards of the Charities Review Council....Now, STLF became the first nonprofit to be reviewed and meet all new standards this past month.

Joel Morris first became involved in STLF over two years ago as a member of the Annual Event Host Committee. He now serves on the STLF Development Committee and is raising money for STLF as part of his quest to be One Man Minneapolis.
Access Middle School Tours!
The most rewarding part of the Tour was when students came together the last evening and shared their favorite service project, what they had learned on the Tour, and how they could help their community upon arrival at home.

Remembering Sarah
The phone call STLF has worried about finally came. An accident tragically ended in the death of Sarah Martinsen, but the strength of relationships, her mother Deb, and the core model helped everyone through the days that followed.
Another Tour, Another Story
I helped found STLF and went on the first Pay it Forward Tour in 2003. Since then, I have planned, facilitated, trained, supported, and participated in Tour experiences. And I learn so much every time.

The Executive Director transition will begin this summer. STLF is excited for succession planning, thankful to Greg for his dedication and service, and look forward to the ideas and energy Josh will bring!
On the Road Again!
Tours departed this past week from Minnesota, Illinois, Wisconsin, New York, and Oregon. 320 students will be serving in over 25 communities between San Francisco and Boston. And it's only just begun...it's Tour Season!Categories
