STLF offers need based financial aid to participants. This works as a price reduction. So someone receiving financial aid effectively is paying a reduced price to attend. Each Chapter is responsible for handling the financial aid process. We have set up Google Forms as an option for participants to apply for financial aid. With Google Forms, this allows you to publicize a website and then let's people complete a Form for you to view and award aid to participants via email.
Your chapter's stlf.net account is already able to access the form. To access the form, here is the link to log into your stlf.net accout's google docs.
On average for one bus, Chapters award between 5-7 participants with financial aid, roughly $1,200. Buses have awarded more aid than that, however additional revenue (Donations, Grants, etc) is needed to offset this.
We set up the form to allow for receiving 50% off or 25% off in aid. In Cvent we created "Discount Codes" (FinancialAid_50%_off & FinancialAid_25%_off). When a "Discount Code" is applied while registering in Cvent, the registration price is reduced in the system. When awarding aid, be sure to send them the discount code, otherwise the aid will not be applied. In addition to the aid, you can offer a payment plan in which they make the downpayment, then make payments every so often before the tour. This is a great way to for those that may not qualify for aid, still receive financial assistance.
